We invest in strategic, bipartisan efforts to protect public ownership and access, ensure landscape health and restoration, and strengthen durable policy frameworks for management of America’s public lands. By aligning partners, capital, and communications, we help translate broad public support into lasting conservation outcomes.

Fresh Water

We secure transformative water funding and build bipartisan momentum for long-term federal water policy addressing water quality, quantity, resilience, and infrastructure. Our approach turns local proof points into durable national solutions.

Private Lands

We strengthen conservation tools that sustain working lands and rural economies by aligning proven tools for communities, landowner interests, and bipartisan policy opportunities. We invest in durable frameworks that protect private lands at scale and ensure they stay that way.

Grantmaking Approach

U.S. Nature Initiative deploys strategic grants to support aligned partners and time-bound conservation efforts. Grants are extended on an invite-only basis to organizations working within USNI-supported campaigns and strategies.
